It was around this time last year that Skal Labissiere started showing us something after getting (unfairly) nailed to the bench for the first three months of his career. Is last year too recent to start looking back on it with nostalgia? I, along with everybody else, was enamored with the idea of a player getting DNPs turning into a guaranteed twenty-a-night scorer with a jumper that arcs so high that it disturbs the hobos that sleep on the catwalks.
Skal’s career didn’t exactly pan out as planned (last time I checked 8 PPG is not even halfway to 20 PPG), but now it’s after the All-Star break again so I’m hopeful that he can retain some of that lost mojo. It helped that Zach Randolph was randomly held out of this game, because that tubby Krispy Kreme fiend has been taking away minutes from Skal all season and denying us the chance for more of those sweet-looking jumpers.
