I know this is a Mario Hezonja video, and I’ll get to him in a minute, but I’d just like to step on the soapbox I have here and let everybody know that Rashad Vaughn needs to be getting 20 minutes per game from here on out. That’s not too unreasonable, the Magic are going to be winning the same amount of games (zero) whether Vaughn doesn’t play or plays all 48. So I think 20 is a nice middle ground. Kick the tires on him before his rookie contract runs out and see if you can get him on the veteran minimum next year. If he ends up in Europe this quickly I’m going to be so pissed.
Okay, back to Hezonja. He was getting marginalized on the Magic, but now he’s a legit rotation player. All it took was a few years of making mistakes and learning from them, and he became someone you can give the ball to and the fans don’t immediately start shifting anxiously in their seats.
He’s been benched again, which sucks. Adam Silver just sent out a memo warning teams not to tank, and I guess they listened, because they’re starting their best players instead of trotting random scrub lineups right from the opening tip. Not like the Magic need to tank. They’re perfectly good at losing even when trying their hardest to win.
