I’m just going to put it out there: in the limited minutes Montrezl Harrell receives, he’s a beast. I don’t know what his defense is like (remember, DTB doesn’t care about defense), but his offensive game is all about POWER. He uses his POWER to over-POWER his POWER-less defenders. POWERFULLY (ignore all his hook shots over smaller defenders. He doesn’t usually do that). He’s currently averaging nine points per game, which is pretty nice for a backup center, and it gets even nicer when you realize that he only plays sixteen minutes per game. Imagine the sick numbers he would put up as a full-time starter. He would probably be a walking 20/10 machine. My heart rate is elevated just thinking about it.
Unfortunately, since he is a POWER player, that means he doesn’t have a lot of outside scoring ability to speak of. In the modern NBA, that means you have to play him with a shooter as your other big man. DeAndre Jordan is about as far from the concept of a “shooter” as it’s possible to be, so Harrell’s minutes are limited. Pair him with somebody like Kristaps (RIP in peace) and you could play him thirty minutes a game. The only problem there is he would dunk the ball with POWER so many times that he might break the rims off.
