One of the greatest tandems in NBA history (okay, I’m exaggerating, so what?) was Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. Kobe and Shaq. Shaq and Kobe. A short lived pairing, but unstoppable. You know where I’m going with this.
We can make this pairing happen again. Kobi Simmons of the Memphis Grizzlies. Shaquille Harrison of the Phoenix Suns. There’s no reason that they can’t be on the same team next year. All one enterprising team has to do is give them some minor contracts, and Kobi and Shaq can live on in an NBA arena. Maybe it could even be on the Lakers? I really want this to happen.
For now, I’ll be content with doing a double-take every time the Grizzlies announcers say “Kobi”. It’s freaking me out, and if you watch this vid, you can be freaked out as well. I even could have edited out all the parts where they said “Simmons”, so if you closed your eyes, you could imagine that the real Kobe was back in the league, all his injuries magically healed and his youthful vigor restored, dunking on people like nothing ever changed…
Shaq Harrison better have a good enough game for highlights before the season is over so I can copy and paste this description.
