The title of this video is not a joke. Brook Lopez, who is 7 feet tall and capable of jumping at least a little bit, played 34 minutes, scored 27 points, but failed to grab even a single rebound. This is because he can only grab a rebound if a.) it comes right to him and b.) there is nobody else nearby trying to get it. Those conditions were not met at any point in this game, so he didn’t grab one. It’s that simple.
The thumbnail is an image of him being told that he finished the game with no rebounds.
I spent the last few years of his career in Brooklyn/New Jersey advocating that he be traded to a team that wasn’t the Nets, so he could fulfill his potential. Turns out, I was wrong to want that. He finally did move, to the Lakers, and they don’t have any real reason to give him the keys to the offense like he had in Brooklyn. Turns out what I really wanted was nonstop buckets from Blopez, and with him in L.A., that’s not what I’m getting. Except for this game. He really went nuts on Vucevic, which makes sense, because Vucevic can’t really guard anyone on account of how soft he is.
I don’t really know what happened at the end of this game, all I know is it seemed really messed up, but long story short, Blopez hit two clutch free-throws with less than a second left to win the game. His only free throws of the night because, again, Vucevic didn’t want any part of him at all.
