I don’t get why Myles Turner has to be so inconsistent. Here’s what I’ve gleaned from compiling his highlights over three NBA seasons: if you want him to score points, just run pick-and-pops with him. Teams are willing to let him have the jumper a lot of the time, so he should take the jumper, and then take some more, and then use all available possession with them. Him scoring in single digits should not happen. Not when he’s basically a black Porzingis with little hair doodles on his head.
I’ve heard criticism that he doesn’t have much in the way of basketball IQ, and that that might be a reason for his inconsistency. Now, BBIQ is a nebulous concept that can’t be quantified. Is there a section in the boxscore for BBIQ? Is there an advanced stat that measures it? No. So I don’t want to hear about it. Case closed.
This was one of those games where you watch the highlights and wonder where this is every night. 24 points, with a whole bunch of sweet looking jumpers. Is he putting more arc on those things than usual? He’s basically scraping the bottom of the jumbotron with those rainbows.
