Dario Saric was a lot more fun when he was still in Europe and no one knew if or when he’d come over to play in the NBA. He’s still plenty fun as a real NBA player, but it’s fun to think about how the future MVP of the league is just chilling in Euro-land and how sweet it will be when he finally shows up. Those illusions were shattered quickly.
Same thing is going on with Luka Doncic. And can you imagine how disappointing it would’ve been if Oscar Schmidt had ever appeared in the US, ready to ball? Some legends are best left undisturbed.
But now Saric is here, and he doesn’t even seem to be allowed to throw oops to Joel Embiid. Or very many passes at all. 4 assists tonight, but it could’ve been more.I’m going to keep repeating the point that Ben Simmons is making certain teammates of his less fun to watch. Does he make up for it with his own funness? Sometimes it seems like he doesn’t.
