This Pelicans loss to the Wizards should serve as a wake-up call to Anthony Davis: if you want your team to win, you have to play in the games. Otherwise you’re going to get blown out by middling playoff teams. Sprained ankles are just an excuse. There are no excuses when it comes to wanting to win. You either want to win, or you don’t. And right now, I don’t think AD wants to win.
Darius Miller wants to win, but there’s only so much he can do in pursuit of this goal, since, you know, he’s Darius Miller. He had twenty points, the most of anybody on his team, and made four of the team’s six total three-pointers (the other two? None other than Bucks legend DeAndre Liggins). I’d say he stepped up in the absence of Anthony Davis, but the rest of his statline was kind of putrid (no rebounds, one assist, three turnovers, four fouls), so I don’t think he really stepped up. He SHOWED up, but he didn’t STEP up.
