It’s taken me a while to figure out, but Khris Middleton doesn’t really show up against good opponents. He has a few decent games against some second-tier teams, but the real elite teams, he’s nonexistent. I guess you could say the same about the lot of players, but what sets Middleton apart is the way he likes to dump on the really bad teams. It’s his favorite pastime, just going up to one of the NBA’s tanks, pulling down his shorts, and dropping 30 on their treads.
That’s what happened tonight. 30 points against the Knicks, who really really don’t want to win another game. They seemed to put up a bit of a fight, but their lack of talent spelled doom for them. Only so much you can do when the first guy off your bench is Damyean Dotson.
In other news, I definitely saw Middleton miss a midrange jumper in the first half, which, by my estimation (which should be accurate since I’ve watched most Bucks games), is his first missed midrange jumper of the season. It was unbelievable. It looked like it was going to go in, but then it back-rimmed and didn’t. The bench reaction was heartbreaking.
