I was thinking that maybe Troy “Ménage à Troys” Daniels just had a REVENGE GAME against his former team, the Hornets, but now I’m thinking that maybe he didn’t. Scoring 17 points is fine, and by itself that number might seem somewhat vengeful, but Daniels went 6-of-15 from the field. That kind of shooting inaccuracy hardly screams “REVENGE” to me. Real revenge would have been Daniels dropping thirty points on 10-of-14 three-point attempts, then pulling down his shorts to moon the crowd after the last one drops in to win the game at the buzzer.
Daniels getting three assists adds a small measure of REVENGE to this game, because Daniels has only gotten three assists or more in a game ten times in his career, but it still doesn’t push this performance into full REVENGE GAME territory. Same with Daniels’ four rebounds. That’s a lot for Daniels, but getting rebounds isn’t exactly the most hard-hitting way to get your former team to realize that they screwed up by letting you go. I guarantee you that not a single fan in that arena saw Daniels grab a rebound and slap their forehead saying “I can’t believe Daniels is dominating us so hard on the glass! Why, oh why did we trade him? Our past mistakes have come back to haunt us!” Nobody thought that.
In conclusion, I would classify this as HALF OF A REVENGE GAME. Not a FULL REVENGE GAME, but not just a normal game either.
