Prior to tonight, Ante Zizic had put together a solid (for him) run of games: 6, 5, and 4 points in the last three. But nothing could have prepared us for what we saw tonight. 15 points, 7 made shots, 2 blocks, all accumulated by Zizic in a mere 20 minutes as the stunned ESPN commentators could only blabber about inane topics only tangentially related to the game at hand. We are all witnesses.
I noticed soon after that big Isaiah Thomas trade that Celtics fans had spent most of the previous months telling us all about how great Zizic was going to be, but when he got traded away to the Cavs, their tune changed; now he was a sucky suck-man who was slow and lumbering. Not calling them out specifically, since most fanbases would do they same. Turns out, I think they were more right with their second opinion. Hard to tell though. Zizic wasn’t really getting the minutes to accurately ascertain his greatness/not-greatness.
This particular performance was not the most impressive thing ever. A whole bunch of easy looks at the rim, I think he might’ve missed a jumper or two that would’ve really increased the quality of this vid, but why I am complaining? Frickin’ Antetozizpo just dropped 15 while the whole frickin’ WORLD was watching. Hopefully some people noticed, but it would be hard, because the commentators gave us no clue that he was decimating his previous career-high and having the game of his life. God damn it.
