Is there a reason that Buddy “Hield of Dreams” Hield gets only 24 minutes per game? I feel like the 6th overall pick from a year ago who is playing relatively well should be getting all opportunities that the Kings can afford him. A conspiracy theory would be that they can’t play him too much because it would lead to unwanted wins, but I don’t buy that. He’s a fine player, but not the kind of guy (yet) who would put a team on his back and drag them to victory.
If you have a theory for Hield’s lack of minutes, I’d love to hear it, just keep in mind that it can’t use the word “defense” or even allude to the concept of it.
I mean, he’s the big prize from the Cousins deal. He’s the next Curry according to the Kings’ FO. They need to put him out there, and not only that, they need to tell him to chuck more. He’s never going to find out if he’s the next Curry if his points per 36 is below 20.
