The list of longtime NBA players who had their best season ever at the age of 33 has to be pretty short (short like J.J. Barea, oh SNAP). However short it is, it has gotten one item longer with how well Barea has played this season. The wins aren’t there, but even at his best he’s not gonna make the difference between winning and losing all that often, so that’s fine. What we care about are his statisticals, and both assists and points are higher than ever.
Rebounds too, actually. Damn! Plus he only needs three more blocks to tie a career-high for a season. This after not getting a single block (how) during his three years (how) in Minnesota.
Problem is, I think he’s getting shorter (that’s what people do as they get older, something to do with their spines idk do I look like a doctor) as the years go on. He’s maintaining his effectiveness well, but there’s only so much you can do when you pass under the five-foot mark.
