29 other GMs around the league are going to be so impressed by this video. Well, maybe not this video particularly (though I know you’re reading this, Earvin), but the performance that this video showcases. Mario Hezonja only had 14 points, but he accomplished a prestigious feat: the “scrub by five”, where a scrub/role-player gets at least 2 of every major statistical category. His final statline: 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks.
Any team looking for a decent-ish all-around player able to be acquired on a cheap deal need to look no farther than Hezonja. I can’t tell what kind of contract he’s going to get this offseason, but it can’t be that big, can it? He’s had some nice stretches, but it takes more than that to get mega-paid unless your name is Jerome James.
Hell, I’d probably get a little hyped if the Bucks signed him. The Bucks have a horrible track record of getting the best out of players, so he should probably go to the Spurs or some other competently-run team, but I would still be hyped for the .5 dunks per game and occasional highlight pass.
