Third overall pick Jayson Tatum went up against fourth overall pick Josh Jackson last night, and I guess there were probably some people who were looking forward to an intense head-to-head matchup (I personally don’t care about player vs. player battles), but the results weren’t as conclusive as I would have liked, because both players scored exactly 23 points. How in the frickin heck am I gonna tell who had a better game when they scored the same amount of points? It’s impossible. It can’t be done.
I tried to look at the other stats in the box-score but they made my head hurt so I stopped. The only one I could figure out before my thoughts became a confused jumble was that Tatum made ten field goals while Jackson only made nine. Since ten is a higher number than nine, I think we might be able to say that Tatum had the better game. But I’m not sure about that one. My microwave crapped out on me yesterday and I haven’t had a Pop Tart in eighteen hours (I’m tallying the hours just like a prisoner tallies the days of his sentence on the cell wall), so you’ll have to forgive me if my thoughts are a bit scattered or I’m just a little bit incoherent.
DTB’S OFFICIAL FINAL VERDICT OF TRUTH: Jayson Tatum officially OUTPLAYED Josh Jackson in this game and is SEVERELY OUTPLAYING Jackson overall this season.
