Ben McLemore is one of those “scoring-only” shooting guards who doesn’t get rebounds or assists or even play defense. So it’s a big problem when he’s not scoring. When he’s not scoring, he gives you nothing other than a warm body to run around and act like it’s playing basketball. That’s why it always warms my stone-cold heart when McLemore has a good scoring game. It gives me hope that the once-upon-a-time “Ray Allen 2.0” can actually stick around in the league for a little bit longer.
That said, how many points per game would McLemore average in Australia? 30? 40? 50? Is that number more or less than the amount of points per game he would average in China? Do you think Taiwan would take him? Their lack of domestic talent means he would get the ball on every possession. I bet he could put up a Kobe-style 81 every single game. And I hear Lebanon is always looking for legit NBA talent.
The only downside of McLemore going to some crazy foreign league is I don’t get to make highlights of foreign leagues, so his outlandish scoring performances would remain in the realm of lore and hearsay. The plus side is, if he busted there too, there would be no video evidence and nobody would really care and he would just sort of drop off the face of the earth, never to be heard from again.
