This was the last game of the regular season (and the whole season, actually, because these dudes definitely did not make the playoffs) for the Suns, so you knew some weird stuff was going to go down. I know I’m not the only one who remembers rookie Archie Goodwin going off for 29 in the season finale a couple years ago after sucking the whole season. This time, it was just a question of which random scrublord would go off. Personally, I thought it would be Jared Dudley, and I thought 20 would be the amount of points. My second guess was Davon Reed, which sucks, because those two guys combined for 7 while everyone else around them went nuts.
Alec Peters was on a whole other level of nuts-ness tonight. The only thing that stopped him from getting 40 was the fact that he wasn’t prepared for this many minutes; he looked like he could barely get up and down the court by the end, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the locker room right now puking up everything he’s ever eaten, due to the overexertion.
Peters, like Goodwin before, has sucked for the whole year. Sub-30 percent shooting, no other stats to speak of besides the jacked threes. He scored three points in the season opener (the Suns lost by 48 that game LMAO), and he barely improved on that total as the season went along. He did score 8 last game on a blistering 3-for-4 shooting, and I was this close to making a vid for it.
Good thing I didn’t, because it would look like CRAP compared to this. All that information I’ve given you about him, that’s to impress on you how UTTERLY RIDICULOUS this performance is. It’s insane. It might be the most insane thing I’ve ever uploaded. Devin Booker’s 70 might be the only thing that comes close. I really am having a hard time believing that it even happened. If I am awoken in a couple seconds by my alarm going off, and this was all a dream, I’ll be pissed, but also somewhat happy, because it will mean that the universe still has some semblance of order left in it.
