It’s a minor tragedy that we didn’t get to see Gerald Green keep this up for the whole game. I’m not even talking about his makes, I just wanted to see him get the record for attempts from three. He took 17 triples in the 26 minutes he played tonight, and didn’t get to play at all in the fourth quarter. I understand wanting to get some of the young guys some run (R.J. Hunter did a great job keeping up the chucking), but when records are in play, sometimes you have to go for them.
As it stands, the only people to attempt more threes than Green in a game this season are Allen Crabbe and Taurean Prince (uhhhhh) with 18. And it’s not like Green was just chucking them without them going in. He was HOT.
There’s still hope. With Luc Richard Mbah a Moute out for a while because he DUNKED SO HARD THAT HE DISLOCATED HIS SHOULDER, which is the sickest thing ever, anyway, because he’s out that means Green might get a few extra minutes in the playoffs. And all it takes is him getting hot early for him to stay in the game, stay hot, and score 30 like it’s no big deal. He won’t get free reign like tonight probably ever again in his career, but some playoff success can make up for that.
