DownToBuck’s hot take of the series: Jayson Tatum is not making enough threes. BOOM. There it is. Disagree if you want, and I know many of you will because of the controversiality of the statement, because of the hotness of the take, but be advised that if you attempt to debate me on the subject, you will lose. I have the stats, the knowledge, and the will to defend my point.
First piece of evidence: Tatum has only made four three-pointers in the series despite being one of the league’s best downtown shooters by percentages.
Second piece of evidence: I don’t have any more pieces of evidence because the first one covers everything that needed to be said, I think.
Tatum wasn’t really a volume three-baller this season, so why do I think he should be doing more in the playoffs? Because it’s the playoffs. It’s where people step up, where boys become man, yada yada, blah blah blah. Jaylen Brown is stepping up. Tatum needs to follow his lead, or he’s not going to get voted Rookie of the Year.
