Okay. So the 76ers managed to avoid a sweep thanks to the heroism of Dario Saric. It’s still quite likely that they lose the series, but this single win elevates the outcome of the series from “completely embarrasing and shameful” to “disappointing”. No lie, I was getting MAD at the Sixers for the pathetic manner in which they completely pooped the bed in the first three games. We, as NBA fans, deserve a good series, and the Sixers weren’t holding up their end of the bargain. I had even drafted preliminary plans to make a trip to Philadelphia in order to 1.) eat cheesesteaks and 2.) locate the residences of the Sixers players and harrass them with embarrassingly large deliveries of adult diapers while I film their reactions from the bushes. Those plans have been shelved for now.
Saric has been a consistent factor in this series, just not very much of one: he scored 12, 14, and 11 in the first three games. Other players on his team had more visible failings, so Saric didn’t really catch much flak for the 0-3 deficit. Now he can be the one who gets the glory for turning an 0-3 series into a 1-3 series. I’m giving it to him right now. The glory, that is. I hope he shouts me out on Twitter.
