I’ve mentioned it before, but we’re kinda running out of players from the 2007 draft (what I call the “Jeff Green Draft”). It’s not bad yet, but give it another year or two and it will be worse. Who really thinks that Jared Dudley or Jason Smith can keep getting contracts? Or Joakim Noah? Nick Young is apparently washed up already. And it seems like it’s been forever since we heard anything about Greg Oden.
Jeff Green is still here though, and guess what! He’s still good! Just going out there, scoring his 10 or so points per game and not really doing anything else, maybe that’s a downgrade from when he was scoring 15 or so points per game to go with his not really anything else, but just watching him on the court, it’s still kinda like we’re seeing prime Green out there.
Wizards fans would surely disagree with my assessment that Green is still “good”, but I think most of them are too beaten-down to contest the point. Those that remain, anyway. And the more that I think about it, the more I wonder why a team would want a guy like Green to play nearly 30 minutes per game. His vet-savvy level must be off the charts.
