DeAndre’ Bembry Career High 19 Points Full Highlights (1/4/2019)

I bet coach Bud of the Bucks is extremely upset about the fact that his former player, DeAndre’ Bembry, had a career high against him. Bud is the one guy in the NBA who would have the most firsthand experience of Bembry’s lack of conventional scoring ability. I bet, right at this very moment, he’s sitting down the entire Bucks squad for an emergency film session that will illustrate to them all the things they did wrong in allowing Bembry to score a career-high nineteen points.

Despite being an improved scorer, Bembry’s still nowhere near what you would call a “good” scorer. After shooting 47% from three in October (an obvious anomaly), he’s shot below thirty percent from that range in the rest of the months. He’s a good finisher but has no outside game to speak of at all. Him scoring this much is a result of an unholy combination of luck, fortune, happenstance, coincidence, and maybe a small smidgen of actual legitimate skill.

You can tell I have a low opinion of his scoring talents when I confidently label his nineteen-point effort as a “career high”, implying that I don’t really think he’ll be scoring more than that in the near future. However, you never know with a tanking team like the Hawks. If Trae Young hits him for, like, six gimme dunks in a single game, Bembry could be scoring in the twenty-plus range before I know it.
