It is my sincere hope that Nikola Jokic does not dunk for a third game in a row. Not because it wouldn’t be a totally awesome occurrence; on the contrary, Jokic dunking three games in a row would be very awesome indeed. However, the alert system I have set up for a Jokic dunk trifecta will make the feeble text-only alert for his “dunk duo” seem absolutely quaint and simple.
Remember when all the residents of Hawaii were convinced that a nuke was coming their way? The alert for Jokic dunking three games in a row will be a lot like that, except it will be worldwide.
As soon as that third dunk happens, all TV broadcasts and online video streams will switch to a scary-looking message warning world citizens to stay inside. Air raid sirens will start going off and militaries all across the world will be activated against some unknown threat. World leaders will be scrambling to their advisors for explanations, but none will be forthcoming; the only thing that will be known is that there is a worldwide incident threatening not only the global economy, but the very survival of the human race.
These messages will continue for a few minutes before the situation is clarified; the threat for additional Nikola Jokic dunks is at “code red” level, a threat level where the safety of all mankind is jeopardized by the seismically terrific power of Jokic’s slam dunks.
And you don’t even want to know what would happen if he dunks the ball five games in a row. I’ll give you a teaser: “Global simultaneous launching of full nuclear arsenals”.
