The best thing about three-pointers is how quickly a player can score points with them. In an NBA without the three-point line, him scoring 14 would be a near-impossible task. He would have to try and Corey Brewer it, leak out every single time and hope that Westbrook can find him cherry-picking. Otherwise, what is he going to do? He could still shoot from where the three-point line would be, but with the removal of the bonus point, it would be a terrible shot efficiency wise. And I can’t discern any ability to score in the midrange, or to create for himself going towards the rim. I guess he could demand a trade to the Nuggets and have Jokic hit him for a bunch of cutting dunks.
Instead, Ferguson barely did anything this game, but because of his four triples, he gets a whole highlight video devoted to him. Not included his is fast-break dunk that was taken away because he was barely fouled as he was streaking bast the Timberwolves defense. Sorry, it was probably the best play he had all night but it didn’t count and thus doesn’t get to appear in the vid.
Okay, now that this is over, I can go back to not thinking about the Thunder so I don’t have to think about what happened to Nerlens Noel.
