Everybody keeps making the comparison between Luka “Lukadris” Doncic and James Harden, and for obvious reasons. Both of them just shoot a lot of free throws. Free throws are an integral part of their respective scoring games. While other players may shoot free throws incidentally, these two guys have made a habit of it.
But the comparison you don’t see as often (or ever) is that between Doncic and Corey Maggette. Remember, Maggette was basically the Harden before Harden, except he never passed the ball EVER and instead of having floppy moobs with constantly erect nipples, he had hardened and aesthetic pectoral muscles. What I’m saying is, Maggette was one of the guys who perfected the art of drawing free throws. I specifically remember the Bucks acquiring him and everybody saying “it will be great to finally have somebody who can draw contact and go to the line.” Like it was a big positive thing we should be excited about.
Never mind that Doncic’s and Maggette’s are vastly different aside from their proclivity for free throws. I’m making a point here that nobody’s made before and I want to make sure it gets heard even if it’s wrong. Why else would I have a YouTube channel with so many subscribers than to espouse my clearly incorrect and uneducated opinions?
