I’ve been one of Smart’s biggest critics ever since he came in to the league. Among the attributes of his that I have criticized:
-His hair (which looks like white-cheddar cheetos dyed half-black)
-His complexion (low blow, but his acne scarring is crazy bad)
-Celtic fans’ adoration of him (not his fault, but also kind of is his fault)
-His low shooting percentage (you cannot tell me that a guy shooting 36% from the field in his career will ever make up that deficit on the defensive end of the ball)
-His willingness to chuck threes despite sucking at them (less relevant this year as he has improved in this area, that much I will grudgingly admit)
-His defense (DTB does not care about defense)
-Theoretically, his contract (I don’t think I’ve actually criticized this, but it would be very easy for me to. Four years, 52 million? That’s a lot for a guard who can’t shoot)
-His position (When he’s on the court, at any given time I don’t know if he’s a PG or SG and that makes me angry)
All that said, Celtic fans seem to like him despite his shortcomings so either they’re extremely loyal to any player donning the Celtic green, they’re simply blind to Smart’s shortcomings, or they’re lying to me and they actually hate him. I will admit that I have myself lied about liking players I actually dislike. coughbrandonjenningscough
