Justise Winslow scored his final point with 8:11 left in the third quarter. Heading into the second half, I was hopeful that I would see him break the career-high of 28 he set a month ago, and when he started the half hitting a bunch more buckets, I was sure that the record would fall.
Unfortunately for us (and Winslow), Erik Spoelstra hates fun and especially hates his own players, and Winslow ended up with only two more shot attempts the whole rest of the game. Perhaps Spo was upset that his hand-groomed PG was taking too many shots and not passing the ball enough? I don’t know. What I do know, is that we were all robbed of a potential Winslow 30-burger. Even I couldn’t call him a bust anymore after that.
As it stands, I still totally can. 26 points isn’t fooling anyone, Bustise. I’ve seen way bigger busts than you score that many points and it didn’t prove anything about them not being bad for their draft position/hype level. Yup, he’s definitely still a huge bust that is an embarrassing indictment on the entire Heat franchise.
