It’s official: DeAndre’ Bembry HATES the city of Milwaukee. He averages 13 points per game over his career against them, the most he averages against any single team, as compared to his 6 ppg career average. The damage inflicted on the city would’ve been even greater had he not been DNPed in 6 of his first 7 matchups against them. But his time has come now, now that he’s a real rotation player. He scored 19 in the first game, a career high, and now has scored 18, which isn’t a career high because it’s one fewer than 19.
The Hawks have lost those two games by a combined 50 points, but imagine how bad it would’ve been had Bembry not single-mindedly channeled his inner rage into dominating the Bucks. I would, at this point, suggest a Bembry for Thon Maker trade so he would stop kicking the Bucks’ cervine posterior so hard, but it seems mean to trade a guy to a city that he obviously despises with every fiber of his being.
We have to wait a few months before the next matchup, but everyone should be circle 3/31 and 4/6 on their calendars, as those are the dates Bembry will finally score above 20 points and I can stop doing all these crappy marginal highlight videos for him.
