For stretches of this game, Luke “The Korndog” Kornet was making Joel “Embad” Embiid’s life very difficult. This is despite a seeming two inch difference in height and a 150-pound difference in weight. Nowhere was this better exemplified than the sequence that saw Embiid throw up a weak shot at the rim, look for a call, not get the call, then flagrantly foul a streaking Kornet who was going for an easy layup.
That’s not a good look for Embiid, who should have been able to use his size advantage to score through Kornet without having to try to draw weak fouls. But it is a good look for the Korndog, who showed poise throughout the whole thing and certainly endeared himself to the Knicks fanbase with a dazzling display of various scoring moves.
I feel like this situation calls for a video description, or a series of video descriptions, that depicts the heroic exploits of a masked superhero called “The Korndog” who topples bad guys with a range of carnival-food-themed superpowers and also helps out hungry children by giving them corndogs. But there’s a lot of highlight videos to make tonight so I’m gonna skip that story for now.
