With around 9 minutes remaining in the game, Rodions Kurucs hit a shot to put the Nets up by 27 (!!!) against the Celtics. As I always say while watching the Bucks choke huge margins, “that’s why you get big leads”. You get big leads so you can go the whole rest of the game without making another shot and still win fairly comfortable. The Nets did hit a bunch of free throws, but field goals were absent as they gave up 20 points of that 27-point lead.
I feel like the Nets commentators would’ve been more excited for Kurucs’ final bucket if they knew they weren’t going to get any more, from Kurucs or from anybody. Instead, they got a little mention of it happening in before continuing their idle chatter with Richard Jefferson. Yeah, he’s a funny and interesting guy, but I don’t watch Nets games to hear him talk about how he’s not going to eat french fries this year.
Which is really messed up, by the way. I’ve had french fries like half a dozen times already this year and we’re only two weeks in.
