Eric Gordon ROBBED (remember, typing things in all caps is how to get people to pay attention to your work) James Harden of a 50-burger by selfishly hogging all the foulball free throws at the end of the game. Who would you want shooting those game-sealing gimmes? The meatball whose only accomplishment in the game was sending it into overtime, or the reigning MVP and current MVP frontrunner who has made a career at the line? The third option, Zhou Qi, is not valid because he was waived a while ago.
Gordon had the game-extending shot, but other than that, he just shot a bunch of free throws and was all round-looking. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I’m coming to realize that he didn’t just rob Harden of a 50-burger. He robbed him of an 80-burger! If he had rightfully taken zero shots and made sure that Harden got those shots instead, Harden would’ve had 78. And you know that if he got that high he would do whatever it took to get the magic eight-oh.
Now I’m really steamed. One of the greatest performances in the modern NBA, taken from us by the selfish actions of one Eric Gordon.
