Landry Shamet 18 Points Full Highlights (1/21/2019)

Landry Shamet averaged 5 assists per game in his final season at Wichita State. That’s… a lot of assists! I am absolutely surprised by that figure, because right now he’s doing hardly any playmaking. For comparison, Chris Paul averaged only 6.6 in his final college season. That’s not even a whole lot more, and Paul is one of the greatest passers in NBA history. I’m not saying that Shamet also could become one of the greatest passers in NBA history (though he could), but I am saying that maybe he should get to handle the rock a little bit and see if he can start making some plays.

Because right now all he does is shoot. That’s literally all he does. He gets the ball, and he shoots it. One upside of that is that his turnover rate is one of the lowest in the league, and his scoring numbers look good, but man. He was so well-rounded in college. Like a proto-Kyle Anderson with more speed but just as ugly.

I didn’t realize it, but this is his second-best scoring game of the season. Wow! Another thing I didn’t expect. I guess that 29-burger he dropped a few games ago really messed up my perception of him.
