Luka Doncic Triple Double 18 Pts/11 Rebs/10 Asts Full Highlights (1/21/2019)

Luka Doncic is now the second-youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double. He is 10 days older at the time of the triple-double than Markelle Fultz was. Now, I’m just saying, if Thon Maker can pretend to be like three or four full years younger than he actually is, it shouldn’t be too hard to present evidence that he is actually 11 days younger than his official age. He just needs to go to the hospital where he was born with a wad of NBA-earned cash, say “I need you to change my birth records” (except in Slovenian, of course), and that should take care of that. Then he can be the youngest triple-doubler ever and Fultz can continue being a bust with a rare and undiagnosable medical condition. Just saying.

Funny thing is, Doncic didn’t even have that good of a game tonight. And that’s a good thing. Good players, even when they’re not playing as well as they usually do, find a way to put up stats anyway. He didn’t do much of anything scoring wise in the first half, and only a banked-in triple with a minute left put his point total into respectable territory. But he had the 10 assists, most of them were really nice, and he stole enough rebounds from DeAndre Jordan (who was trying to steal them right back) to get the triple-double.

Only problem is, he played just well enough to prevent this game from being a blowout, thus preventing Kostas Antetokounmpo from getting in the game. Doncic is great, I’m really excited for him and his development, but I’m also excited for the other Antetokounmpo and I don’t want to wait around much longer.
