Thaddeus Young 23 Points Full Highlights (1/23/2019)

Big props to Thaddeus Young for managing to hit a clutch lead-extending shot (we need a catchy term like “buzzer-beater” or “game-winner” to represent that kind of shot, this is a big failure of the English language) with 10 seconds left despite the torrent of tears obscuring his vision. He had seen his teammate Victor Oladipo die on the court, but as they say, the show must go on. No time for grief and mourning when there’s a basketball game against the best team in your conference to be won.

I think the Pacers can survive the loss of Oladipo. He was playing great, duh, because he’s a great player, but he wasn’t as good as last year. And they did pretty good without him earlier in the season, right? Or am I making that up. I can’t remember, and checking would take 20 seconds that I don’t have right now.

Young needs to step up a little bit, anyway. He’s always been an underrated player, well, now it’s time for him to become properly rated by going out there and scoring 20 points per game along with all the intangibles he brings to the table.
