Derrick Rose probably isn’t going to be an All-Star, but if he was, he’d be an All-Star who was getting outplayed by Jerryd Bayless. Which would be a huge indictment on the whole system, because Bayless shouldn’t be outplaying All-Stars. Under any circumstances. Don’t believe me about Rose getting outplayed? Here’s Rose’s last two games combined: 12 points, 8 assists. And Bayless: 30 points, 15 assists.
Sure, Bayless is shooting under 40 percent during this “hot” stretch, but he’s somehow earned the trust of the new Saunders, and has played almost 30 minutes in each game. And, guess what, the Timberwolves have won both of those games. This is a small sample size, but there might be something going on here. Maybe, uh, Bayless is… the point guard????? of the FUTURE for the Timberwolves. Oh yeah. I went there. And I’m not coming back, even though I was really tired of his chucky baldness by the time his tenure on the Bucks ended.
I don’t know if any fanbase has ever really liked him. I think it’s because he looks pissed off all the time. But who knows? Maybe Minnesota fans can be his first fanbase to really embrace him. That would be funny.
