Mason Plumlee 16 Points/6 Assists Full Highlights (1/25/2019)

Attention Nikola Jokic fans: Jokic might not have played this game due to suspension (he ran off the bench last game and was trying to fight refs and fans [and scorekeepers (for not giving him more assists)]), but you can get at least 50% of the official Nikola Jokic experience by watching this video of Mason “The SugarPlum Fairy” Plumlee.

Plumlee has some passing skills. Passing skills that, I would say, are quite close to the level of passing that Jokic shows on a nightly basis. However, as merely a backup center, Plumlee doesn’t get to show those skills off as often. That’s really the biggest similarity between the two of them.

Their scoring games are way different, however. Plumlee sometimes tries to show off his post moves, but you can tell he’s not very comfortable with all that wheeling and dealing in the pain. He also doesn’t really have a jumpshot. His form is completely mangled to heck (check his free throws for confirmation) and the “Mason Plumlee is a jumpshooter” experiment ended when he left Portland.

However, Plumlee does dunk the ball way better than Jokic could ever hope to. Plumlee probably had more dunks in this game that Jokic has had all season. In that sense, he is the more entertaining player to the casual fan, because casuals only care about dunks, crossovers, and assists where somebody gets nutmegged. I hate casuals.
