John Collins 21 Points Full Highlights (1/26/2019)

It feels weird, but 21 points isn’t even that many points for John Collins these days. Only slightly above his average of 19. Still a highlight-worthy performance, but for how much longer? In only a few games, he’ll probably be above 20 ppg on the season, and then what? Do I just remove him from my channel? It seems like I’ve just started getting to know John the Baptist, I don’t want to say goodbye yet.

Collins has been great this year, no doubt, but let’s take a minute to give some props to Trae Young for setting him constantly. How many easy dunks has Collins received from the pinpoint passing of Young? Dozens. Young really sucks right now, can’t shoot at all, but he can definitely increase the value of his rim-running/three-point bombing potential All-Star teammate who happens to only be in his second year in the league.

The upshot of all those free buckets is we don’t get to see enough of Collins doing stuff for himself. There’s some of that, sure, but not enough. Because sometimes these highlights get a little samey when it’s just lobs and threes for the whole duration. Not saying you shouldn’t watch this video, by the way. Just saying it’s going to be lobs and threes.
