Trae Young 30 Points/8 Assists Full Highlights (1/26/2019)

In the past few videos I have made for Trae Young, he has been reliant on his floater to score points. My opinion on floaters is well-known and shouldn’t need to be restated, but I will restate it anyway for the benefit of newcomers: floaters are a shot that is only taken when all your other options for scoring have failed. A floater is never your first or second choice. If you are shooting floaters as a first resort rather than a last resort, you need to take a break and rethink your life.

I will say, however, that Young’s floater has been totally wet lately. So wet that I experienced, for the briefest of moments, a flicker of uncertainty towards my previously stated position on floaters. Then I was like, “Nah, Young’s just completely lost confidence in his jumpshooting ability so he takes it to the rack all the time, and then he has to throw up floaters when he realizes he’s too tiny to make it all the way to the cup.”

It’s also worth noting that if Trae had just jacked three-pointers this entire game instead of taking floaters, I would have made fun of him for that as well. Basically the only thing that he could do that I wouldn’t mock is spam midrange jimbos like he’s the second coming of Chris Paul.
