I always thought that having Alec Burks and Rodney Hood on the same team was kind of an avoidable redundancy. The Jazz solved that particular problem by getting rid of Hood to the Cavaliers, but then they burned the Cavaliers by giving them Burks as well. Do they realize that LeBron isn’t there anymore and there is no reason to sabotage them any more?
Well, now the Cavaliers have solved their Burks/Hood redundancy by trading Hood for Nik Stauskas, who isn’t redundant with anyone except for other white three-point shooters. Now Burks gets to be the chucking SG who can kind of score decently without anyone else trying to steal his thunder except for Jordan Clarkson.
I hope Cavs fans are enjoying Burks. I have no idea if they are or not, because they’re kinda keeping a low profile these days, but I’ve always enjoyed the entertainment value of Burks. He makes tough shots, maybe you could even call him a “tough shot maker”, even if other parts of his game aren’t really there.
