The Lakers really messed up this offseason when it came to their center position. First, they let Brook Lopez (who is really great, I must say) sign with a new team for not even that much money, and then they did the same with Thomas Bryant. I would rather have one or both of those dudes over the pupu platter of center mediocrity that the Lakers are running out there. Then again, I don’t know if the guy they totally marginalized (Bryant) or the guy they made cry on the bench (Lopez), would even have wanted to stay. But now Lopez is being the most fun player ever on the Bucks, and Bryant is shooting 65 percent from the field as the starter for the Wizards and can also shoot threes too.
It is with all that said that I forbid Lakers fans from even watching this video. They don’t deserve to watch the exciting highlights of the players they let slip away. They deserve only to watch their own team implode at the hands of LeBron “Chemistry Killer” James and to agonize over the value of their young “assets”. Even if watching this Bryant 26-point explosion would cause them more anguish than joy, I do not want to run the risk of even one Lakers fan finding happiness here. Be gone, heathens!
I also forbid them from watching the highlights from Kobe’s 81-point game. Hit them where it hurts.
Brook Lopez is great, but he couldn’t really do much to contain Bryant in this one. I don’t think of Bryant as the kind of guy to create his own shot, but he was doing a bunch of it tonight, as well as hitting a few perimeter jumpers to confuse things for the defense. Overall, I’d say this is a more exciting performance than that 14-for-14 game has a few months ago.
