Terrence Ross 32 Points Full Highlights (2/7/2019)

Terrence Ross is quietly becoming one of my favorite shooters in the league. I never expected that something like this would happen, honestly. Either the “favorite” part or the “shooter” part. He’s always been an okay shooter, but in Toronto, he was content to float through games without making a consistent effort to have an impact on the game. That meant that he was never really looking for his shot, except for that time he scored 51 points.

Now, this season, we can see that the 51-point game was just a teaser of what was waiting inside Ross’ loins all along. Coming off the bench, he gets into the game looking to score. He knows that’s his job so he’s looking to shoot jumpshots whenever the opportunity presents itself. Sometimes this attitude backfires on him and he misses a lot of shots until he gets benched again, but more often than not this season, this approach to the game works great.

Unlike many “shooters” in today’s NBA, Ross is not afraid to shoot it from the midrange. In fact, he seeks that shot out specifically. There are very few players who so frequently and deliberately aim for midrange attempts as Ross does. I don’t wanna make any comparisons that will make me look stupid, but…screw it. I’m seeing some Michael Jordan here. Michael Jordan with a better three-point shot and 100% more headband. Come at me.
