Everyone knows that DownToBuck cannot resist a heaping platter of REVENGE, served cold. So when I saw that Trey Burke had 20 against the team that draft-and-dumped him, I was salivating. Some other videos had to get done first, and I’m sorry about that, but they were all just a prelude to the devastation that Burke unleashed in Utah.
Truth be told, I’m a little underwhelmed. I was expecting to be fully whelmed, but this isn’t what I was imagining going into the endeavor. Yes, it is Burke scoring 20 points. And yes, the opponent is the Jazz. And nothing about his departure from the Jazz has changed; he’s still definitely resentful of how his time there came to an end.
But a big portion of these points came when the game was over, and even before that you never got the sense that he was playing with FURY. Revenge games need FURY while they’re being executed, otherwise it’s just a regular game against a former team. If he had added a couple more stepback midrange jimbos, now that would’ve been great. As it stands, you can just stop watching after the first bucket. It’s the best one.
