Luke Kennard’s getting confident with this three-point stroke, to the point where he’s willing to do stepbacks to get himself open for the shots he wants. Maybe I just have a selective memory, but I don’t think that Kennard was doing this kind of stuff last season or even early this season. It’s easy to throw around buzzwords in situations like these, so that’s exactly what I’m going to do here.
Kennard has CONFIDENCE in his shot now. He has the SUPPORT OF COACHING to take those shots(maybe). THE BASKET HAS GOTTEN BIG for him since he’s started to SEE HIS SHOTS DROP. His HARD WORK IS PAYING OFF.
The next thing for Kennard to do is to expand his game beyond just shooting jumpers from everywhere on the floor. Sure, he could add the Harden-travel-stepback to his arsenal, but I’d rather see him work on his vertical leap so he can throw down mega-jams when opponents bite on three-pointer pumpfakes. Do you know how much money I would pay right now to see Kennard hammer it on someone and be part of an actual poster? It would at least be ten bucks.
