Emmanuel Mudiay laughs at your pathetic attempts to take his minutes. Ron Baker? Traded, then injured. Trey Burke? Traded due to being a huge bust. Frank Ntilikina? Can’t make a shot, then injured. John Jenkins? LMAO. Courtney Lee? How about you try making a layup in the finals, scrub. Kadeem Allen? Can’t even get on the active roster anymore. Dennis Smith Jr? Got his minutes taken by a midget in Dallas.
Mudiay is the one averaging 14 points per game on 45 percent shooting, people. Not any of these other losers. Mudiay is the one who was unfairly deemed a bust and then turned his career around on the biggest stage in basketball (I’m trying to pander to Knicks fans here, is it working?). Mudiay is the one who dismantled the corrupt NCAA system by playing in China. And Mudiay is the one who has rightfully earned the bulk of the PG minutes for the Knicks. Everyone else can screw the heck off.
Coach Fizdale hasn’t quite realized the unsuitability of all the other guards on the roster. That is the last hurdle Mudiay has to overcome. He can either convince Fizdale to play him 48 minutes like he deserves, or he can get Fizdale fired. That second one might be easier; the Knicks love getting new coaches so they can pretend that they’re trying to make the team better when in reality all their problems start at the top and the rotten culture permeates every aspect of the franchise (I am no longer trying to pander to Knicks fans).
