It’s been over three months since Jusuf Nurkic made a three. I should’ve known better to assume he’d be the next Brook Lopez with him shooting tons of them per game. I blame the preseason for this. And Nurkic. If he knows he’s not going to keep shooting them in the regular season when the going gets tough, why would he lead fans along by shooting them in preseason? I was all set to make a three-ilation for him but as of right now it would only have three clips in it. Maybe I could make a “full” three-ilation that shows his misses as well? I could probably photoshop (videoshop?) it so it looks like they all went in.
Nurkic did take a three in this game, which is why I’m bringing this up. Even him taking them is a rare occurrence these days. Instead, ignoring all sorts of modern analytics created by nerds with nerdy glasses, he’s back to taking midrange jumpers. There’s value in taking a shot you can make versus taking a shot you can’t make, even if there’s a whole point of difference between them, but I still think that if he just tried a little harder he could extend his range out. It’s only a few feet of difference, what, he isn’t strong enough to throw the ball a few extra feet?
Also, I’d like to apologize once again for declaring the era of Nurkic-standing-at-the-eblow-and-throwing-sweet-passes-like-a-certain-Denver-center-who-he-hates over. I don’t know what I was thinking when I said that, because that era is definitely not over. It’s still happening right now, every game.
