When Nikola Mirotic was brought on to the Bucks, I knew it meant one thing: a reduction in minutes for D.J. Wilson. I’m sure that this change in circumstances for Deej hit a lot of fans hard, given that he had endeared himself to the fanbase with his strong play. But I doubt it hit anybody as hard as it hit me.
If you’ll remember, I was pretty much the only Bucks fan in the universe who hadn’t given up on Deej after his rookie season. While other Bucks fans were clamoring for him to be cut loose so that the team could keep Tim Frazier, I remained on the lonely, desolate, slow-moving D.J. Wilson hype train. Those who weren’t on the hype train with me should have been barred from entering it when Wilson started showing true NBA-level basketball ability, and they should definitely not be pretending to be sad that Wilson no longer is getting the minutes that he earned. You wanted him off the team! You’re reaping what you’ve sown! The weeds of bitterness sprout forth from the seeds of impatience!
Mirotic played poorly in this game, missing all six of his three-pointers, even though his shot is much more orthodox and eye-pleasing than Wilson’s line-drive jumpshot that looks like it should never go in. Disgustingly, this will likely provide more ammunition for so-called Deej supporters who abandoned their faith after his dismal rookie season. You people make me sick.
Only true D.J. Wilson acolytes like myself are permitted to partake of the joys of this highlight video. All others are hereby banished from its glory. Be gone! Be gone! Vermiferous heathens! Be gone with you!
