Shai “Gilge Pump” “Gilgamesh” Gilgeous-Alexander had not had a ten-assist game before tonight. He also hadn’t ever had ten rebounds in a game, so this is OFFICIALLY the first OFFICIAL double-double of his career. Double-doubles don’t really excite me that much, but I do feel something stirring in this loveless heart of mine. It might be arythmias, but it also might be a twinge of excitement for Gilgamesh, who, in case you’ve forgotten, is a rookie who is starting for a playoff team.
For your edification, here is the full list of rookies who are starting for playoff teams:
1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
2. Landry Shamet
That’s it. That’s the whole list. Every other rookie that’s playing well enough to start is doing so on a bad team. Give credit to Steve Ballmer and his reeking, sweated-through dress shirts: he nailed the SGA pick and he nailed the trade that sent fan faves Tobes and Boban to the 76ers for Shamwow and some other stuff that I can’t quite remember right now. My guess is he’s also nailing hot Los Angeles MILFs because of how rich he is. He truly is the master of nailing things.
