In this video description, I will assert that Brook Lopez enacted a REVENGE GAME upon his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Because he did. However, he actually wasn’t playing against a lot of former teammates. Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were the two “big names” that were on the Lakers last season, and then Lopez also got minor amounts of revenge against Josh Hart, Andre Ingram, and Alex Caruso.
Then again, REVENGE GAMES aren’t usually about getting REVENGE on former teammates. They’re about getting REVENGE on former teams no matter who is playing for them at the moment. Relationships with teammates are almost never soured to the point where you would actually want to specifically get revenge on them as players, but relationships with teams regularly sour to that point. I’m sure they are so soured between Lopez and the Lakers, given that he was a great stretch five for them and then they didn’t even want to bring him back. Now they have to pretend Mike Muscala is a decent stretch five and just sit there and take it while Lopez destroys them with deep three after deep three. I didn’t see LeBron on the bench but he was probably watching the game somewhere while shaking his head sadly.
So, Magic Johnson, Jeanie Buss, Luke Walton, and Rob Pelinka: consider yourselves REVENGED.
