Doug McDermott 17 Points Full Highlights (3/19/2019)

There has to be a team out there who is ready and willing to give Doug McDermott big minutes. There just HAS to be. The Pacers are not that team. I would consider his current minute allotment “subpar”, even if he is playing a decent role on one of the better teams in the league (how much better if they let him have the Bogdanovic role? probably loads). So which team is it? There are only 30 NBA teams, which narrows it down a lot, even if a team like the Harlem Globetrotters could really use a sharpshooter like McBuckets in their rivalry with the Washington Generals. Here are some ideas:

-Celtics. Obvious. If you’re not getting it, the Celtics would want McDermott because he possesses a certain attribute that they and their fanbase desire greatly. And I’m not talking about his three-point shooting.

-Suns. I don’t know if this is perfect, fit-wise, but it is perfect because the Suns really suck and would probably give him a ton of minutes because they don’t care about his lack of any ability besides scoring.

-Warriors. Kevin Durant is as good as gone, and they’re going to need a third splash brother to replace the deparing one. Enter McDermott. He’s just like Klay Thompson but a little worse, and what team wouldn’t want two Klay Thompsons on their team so that one could be on the court all the time? I can’t think of any team that wouldn’t want two Klay Thompsons on their team.

-Bulls. They traded so much to draft him in the first place that I bet they want to reacquire to try and justify that horrible trade to their increasingly hostile fanbase. What better way to say “you guys are idiots, this was a great trade” than by grabbing McDermott off the scrap heap and turning him into a 20ppg scoring monster?
