Thomas Bryant 22 Points Full Highlights (3/21/2019)

I don’t even know if anybody remembers Dwight Howard anymore. The only way you would ever think about him is if the Wizards’ big man situation was drawing some kind of negative attention due to its badness and you thought to yourself, “The Wizards could really use Dwight Howard right now”. But the big man situation in Washington is totally fine, so there’s never any reason for Howard to enter your thoughts.

Thomas Bryant is a big reason, perhaps the main reason, why the Wizards can feel comfortable with the center rotation they’ve got going on. Ian Mahinmi, on the other hand, is definitely not supporting the team with his strong play, both because he doesn’t play and because, if he did play, he would suck (hence the not playing). Bryant is not only outplaying the other bigs on the team but is completely outplaying any and all expectations that anybody had for him coming into the league.

Unfortunately for the Wizards, their contract situation is all kinds of fouled up, which means that they won’t be able to re-sign Bryant unless he takes a sweetheart deal. I strongly doubt that they’ll have any cap room at all, and they also will never be able to find a trade package that includes Mahinmi in it, so I foresee Mahinmi being the full-time starter next season. Combine that with an absent John Wall and a trade Bradley Beal. Yeah. Are there even going to be fans in the arena next season?
